More on Canadian Government Abondoning the Long Census Form

I recently posted on this forum about Statistics Canada abandoning the long-form for the 2011 census and turning over to the National Household Survey (NHS) a voluntary long form without the "check-off" question for authorizing release of the individual census questionnaire in 92 years (the required length of time by Canada for releasing such information).

There has been a number Canadians who are concerned about this turn of events and in today's Canada Globe and Mail Newspaper there is an article on the resignation by the Chief statistician of Statistics Canada, Munir Sheikh, as a rebuke to the government stating that the voluntary form can not replace
the previous mandatory long form.
