National Archives (USA) has new logo and home page redesign

The National Archives (USA) has a new logo-which will be unveiled at their July 4th celebration..its an eagle. US Archivist David Ferriero said " Eagles traditionally represent strength, courage, farsightedness, and immortality, and wings symbolize forward movement, swiftness and protection".

You may see a miniature of the logo at:

As part of the National Archives "open government initiative" the National Archives will redesign their archives.gov and are asking for input. You may vote on-line by going to: http://www.archives.gov/open/redesign/ or for those in the Washington DC can vote July 6-9 at the O'Brien Gallery at Archives I. You can E-mail your ideas to webprogram@nara.gov or comments on the NARAtions Blog.
