[UK] The Gazette Has A New Website

Posted by: Jan Meisels Allen

The Gazette will launch their new website on March 31—it is free access but you will need to register. To register go to: https://www.thegazette.co.uk/my-gazette/account?register=true&type=research, complete the form and submit and they will send you an activation email where you complete the process.  The website is:  https://www.thegazette.co.uk/ .

The existing website will be decommissioned on Friday 28th March, and links will be redirected to the new site.

The Gazette has been the official journal of record and the newspaper of the Crown and has been published for almost 350 years. The Gazette is also famous for being the bearer of official War Office and Ministry of Defense events, including listing those 'Mentioned in Despatches' (MIDs), where notable individuals are recognized for their activities in the theater of war.  It also includes Wills and Probate, Insolvency and the  Public Noticeboard.

Thank you to Saul Issroff for alerting us this change in the website address and Saul advises that this site is useful for name changes and war decorations etc.
