The Jewish Genealogical Society of Palm Beach County Inc. celebrated its 20th anniversary party at a gala luncheon Sunday February. 27th. Natalie Hamburg and Sylvia Nusinov co-chaired the afternoon party, held at the Renaissance Boca Raton Hotel. Tribute was paid to the many members who have helped the organization grow from ten members in 1991 to a dedicated membership of over three hundred ardent genealogists.
Four board members, Natalie Hamburg, Arnold Davidson, Marilyn Newman, and Jacqueline Fineblit were singled out for their many years of outstanding service and presented with a commemorative plaque reading, “in honor of your continuous dedication to the Jewish Genealogical Society of Palm Beach County.” The current officers and past presidents officiated in a candle lighting ceremony and the Amazing Bottle Dancers provided entertainment.
According to President Mark Jacobson, “The Society, which is now one of the fifth largest in the world, is dedicated to providing a forum and assistance to members interested in researching their ancestry. JGSPBCI offers the highest level of programming from resources around the globe.” JGSPBCI projects have earned five national and international awards for outstanding programming and publications.
